Miniature Fort Moultrie Flag

Carried by Colonel William Moultrie's South Carolina Militia as they defended Sullivan Island in Charleston Harbor  on June 28, 1776.  Some versions of this flag have the word "Liberty" on the crescent moon.  The South Carolina state flag still contains the crescent moon from this Revolutionary flag.

* Flag is four x six inches attached to ten inch black staff, topped with gilt spear
